Arrival, Departure And Transportation
- Campers' parents or guardians are responsible
for their transportation to and from camp. Plan
to arrive on Sunday of the camp session, between 2:30 and 4:00
PM. Details
will be sent in a confirmation letter.
- Each Sunday from 4:00 - 4:15 PM a quick staff introduction and review of the camp policies and procedures will be given each week in the amphitheater. Parents are encouraged to attend.
- Day Campers must arrive on Sunday of
the camp session, between 3:00 PM and 3:45 PM, for
activity registration and swim tests. Monday morning (arriving
between 8:00 – 8:30 A.M.), day
campers will then be "up and running."
- Family and friends are invited to attend the
closing ceremony each Friday at 6:30 PM followed by dismissal
around 7:00 PM.
- Week #2 - Friday, July 4, 2008 - Early Closing
Ceremony at 3:00 PM; dismissal at 3:30 PM.
Registration Day Procedure
- Sunday registration for resident campers begins
at 2:30 PM and ends promptly at 4:00 PM.
- Campers who have submitted all required paperwork and payment in full for their camp session are eligible for "Express Registration"
.
- A list of campers not eligible for express registration will be posted at the lodge entryway. Please report to the registrar to complete your registration. Remember, having forms completed, returned and paid for prior to your child's camp session helps us to keep our camp costs lower.
- Each camper will retrieve his/her submitted health forms and be given a cabin assignment. Campers will be assigned to their cabins by ages.
- Girls' area cabins are: American Chestnut, Douglas Fir, Eastern Hemlock, Shagbark Hickory, Sugar Maple, Scarlet Oak, Sassafras, and Sycamore.
- Boys' area cabins are: Balsam Poplar, Linden, Paper Birch, Red Cedar, White Pine, and White Spruce.
- Cabins on "The Hill" are: Hacienda ("A" & "B"), Ranch House, and Tumbleweed.
- Campers/parents/guardians will then meet with the Health Director who will review health and immunization history.
- Each camper will then have a head lice examination.
- Day campers must sign up for activities and take swim tests on Sunday from 3 - 3:45 PM and meet with the Health Director.

Medications
ALL prescription medications must be in the original container with the name of the child, name of the drug, prescribed dosage, and name of the prescribing doctor on the label.
All medications must be given to the Health Director with a completed Form E signed by a physician and parent/guardian for both
prescribed medications and over the counter medications when the camper arrives at camp.
ALL medications
(including teen leaders) must go
home on weekends.
Phone Calls/Visitors
- Campers will only be allowed to make or receive phone calls at the discretion of the Camp Director.
- Of course, in an emergency, parents may call the camp at (860) 974-1122.
- Campers are not allowed to have visitors during the camp season.
Sign-Out
- At the close of all sessions, the person picking up each camper will be asked to sign a camper sign-out form.
- Prior permission must be obtained from the Camp Director if someone other than a parent will be picking up the camper.
- Be sure to pick up medications and check the "Lost & Found" before leaving.
- ALL medications

Health And Safety
Health Certificate
- Each camper must have a physical examination within two years of the camp session. A copy of that physical must be forwarded to camp each year.
- A copy of a school health form and immunization history with an attending physician's signature is also acceptable.
- Form E is required
for both prescribed medications
and must be signed by a physician and parent/guardian.
- Form G (which you will receive with yor confirmation packet) to be signed by parent for non-prescribed medicatiuons.
Bunking Policy
- At Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp we believe
your child will have the best camping experience bunking with
7 new friends. For this reason, we strongly prefer them to
bunk with new friends. However, if you feel it necessary for
him or her to bunk with a friend of
the same age, please list
only one
friend's name and age. Both friends
must request each other. Priority given to those who request
early.

Camp Directions
Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp is located at 326 Taft Pond Rd, Pomfret Center, CT. For driving directions to the camp, enter your starting location in the form HERE.
Taft Pond Road is approximately ¼ mile on the left from the junction of Routes 97 and 44 in Pomfret. Follow the 4-H signs to the camp located approximately 1½ miles on the left.
